DARRAGH, FORSYTH AND LIVINGSTON KIN
Posted by: P. P. Chapman (ID *****7349) Date: February 19, 2004 at 12:36:15

There is a connection between the Darraghs who lived in the Greene, PA area, the Forsyths who lived at Peter's Creek, PA, and James D. Livingston who married Sarah Forsyth (1805, d. probably War of 1812)in Mifflin, PA and who named his son James Darragh Livingston. The Forsyths and Livingstons and others travelled to MO by wagon train in the 1850's.

The Forsyths were governors of Stirling Castle in Scotland, and the Darragh family is from Stirlingshire, Scotland.

I hope someone can put these names in context. James D. Livingston appears from nowhere and disappears to nowhere after marrying Sarah (Kuykendall) and having four sons. She remarries James Carothers in 1813, her last Livingston son having been born in 1812.

I believe the Darragh tie is through the Forsyth or Livingston families. Who out there in cyberspace can help me with James D.? maybe his mother is the Darragh? -- thanks, Pat (Livingston) Chapman
