I have DARRAH relatives who came from Ireland to the US through Canada. Daniel and Ann DARRAH arrived in Canada some time between 1841 & 1844. They had 4 children in Canada between 1844 & 1852. By 1860 they were in the coal mining region of NE Pennsylvania.

I am hardly an expert, but I know that many Irish emmegrated to Canada in the 'coffin ships' and passed through Grosse Isle (a Canadian Ellis Island). You can get more info on Canadian Immigration at: http://ist.uwaterloo.ca/~marj/genealogy/thevoyage.html

I don't see any connections between our families at this point. Mine were Irish & yours Scottish, but back then they were both under the direct control of England so their situation was probably similar.

Good luck with your research.
