My name is Rick Prescott and I have been researching my Uncle (1LT Mason Prescott) who was a B-24 navigator in the 307th Bombardment Group and reported MIA on 14 November 1943. I just received a copy of the Missing Air Crew Report (MACR) and thought I would share the names of the crew with anyone who may be interested. I thought my uncle was assigned to the 372nd BS but the MACR listed the 424th Bomb Squadron as the reporting unit. The mission was being flown from Koli Field to bomb Kahili Airfield in the Solomon Islands. Their aircraft was a B-24J, tail number 42-73141. The crew members were: 1LT Clyde Friend - Pilot, 1LT Gerald Darr - Co-Pilot, 1LT Mason Prescott - Navigator, 1LT Norris Nelson - Bombardier, T/Sgt William Adams - Engineer, S/Sgt Malcom Smith - Asst Engineer, T/Sgt Eugene Hyden - Radio Operator, S/Sgt James Buchanan - Asst Radio Operator, S/Sgt William Bush - Gunner, and S/Sgt James Hoffman - Gunner. If anyone has additional information, please contact me. My e-mail address is
