Naomi,
I am just beginning my DARR research and have few details I can offer at this time. However, there is a large body of work done by Howard Bowers which he has sent me, but I have not transferred the pertinent information into my program as yet.I can tell you that your William Thorton was a brother to our Andy Dennie DARR (1892), and both were sons of Joseph P. DARR (1848) and Nancy Jane WRIGHT (1851).There was also a son Phillip, but that would be a brother to your gg-grandfather.
Joseph Philip DARR died in 1913, probably in or near Seneca, Newton County, MO, and is buried in Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery in Newton County, MO.Nancy Jane WRIGHT died in 1937 and is buried there also.
Their children were:
Andy Dennie DARR (1892)- my husband's grandfather; Oliver French DARR; Leanora DARR; William Thornton DARR; Mary Marie DARR; Hiram DARR; Jasper DARR; and Phillip DARR; Henrietta Edna "Etta" DARR; Elizabeth Valetta "Libbie" DARR (mar. BOWERS); Guy Granville DARR, Sr.; and John Christy DARR (1894). That is not the order of birth.
Howard BOWERS can be found on this message board, or I will try to remember to share info with you when I get it into my program, probably this fall sometime. Please feel free to remind me and write privately to:

If you know how I can get in touch with Pam Crain, please let me know.
