Amy, I know alittle bit about this family. My grandmother was Salena Darnall.The #9 island you speak of is now #9 oxbow lake. My family came from the same area and lived on #8 island.Gaylon's mothers name was Dilly Pigue/pigg and her mother was Salena Darnall, my grandmother.his father was Joseph Darnall.I have Gaylon b.1857 and died 1937.I also have Gaylon married to Sara Conner, they had Jefferson,John,James,Joseph,Emma"dixie",Justin Jurney and Karen.I would love to know more about Sassafras Ridge. I've been there but there's not much there any more. If we are on the same family ,I have the names of some of the others spouses and their familys. waiting to hear from you. Linda
