Suzanne is right. I screwed up. I have no idea what was going through my mind when i wrote John Darling as father of Jonathan. Obviously I didn't proof read my posting. Jonathan Darling was the fourth son of Thomas and Sarah (Buxton)Darling, bp. 6 Jul 1712 in the Salem Village Church. Thomas moved to Framingham in 1734, where he died 10 Mar 1749. As Suzanne states, his will names "my son Jonathan Darling late of Andover yeoman deceased." Jonathan, Sr. died 21 Mar 1745/6 at Louisburg, Cape Breton Island, during King Georges War. We are indebted to Jonathan, Jr. for information about his father's demise and his (Jonathan, Jr.)early life. Jonathan kept a log, a copy of which is in the Peabody Library, Salem. Other copies exist as well and it makes interesting reading.
