Mary "Polly" Darling, Joseph Soule, Polly Soule, Jonathan Towle
Mary "Polly" Darling (b. 1776 - d. March 13, 1857). She was born Duxbury, Mass. She first married Capt. Joseph Soule (1771-1805)of Mayflower lineage. "Polly" Darling and Joseph Soule were married Jun 1796 at Duxbury, Mass. The moved to Avon/Salem Maine. By Joseph Soule she had 3 children: Joshua Soule; Polly Soule (1802-1889) who married Stephen P. Folsom; and Joseph Soule. The family lived at Avon/Salem, Franklin, Maine. Polly (Soule) Folsom is my ancestor. The Soule children along with some of their Towle half brothers moved to Wisconsin and Minnesota later as adults. The Soule family was living at Avon, Franklin, Maine and the children were all very young when Joseph Soule died. After Joseph Soule died Mary "Polly" (Darling) Soule married Jonathan Towle who was born in New Hampshire and together they had 6 sons, James; John Darling; Jonathan Perkins; Samuel; William; and Theodore Marston. Jonathan Towle and Mary "Polly" Darling Soule Towle remained the rest of their lives in Avon/Salem, Franklin, Maine and are buried in the old Franklin Maine cemetery. The Soule and Towle children were raised together of course and became very close. Many of them moved to Wisconsin and Minnesota as adults. "Polly" (Soule) Folsom and her husband Stephen Philbrick Folsom both died and are buried in Wisconsin. Polly's brothers, Joshua Soule and Joseph Soule both married and also moved to Wisconsin. I am always looking for more documentation and photo's of the Soule and Folsom families.
