Seeking contact with any descendants of John Darling born around 1780. According to convict shipping records he was convicted at Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Cavan for passing a forged note in 1826.The curate at Killashandra gave a character reference and mentioned John Darling had a wife and nine children.
After serving his sentence of fourteen years, he married and had three more children.
I can't imagine how tough life must have been for his wife and nine children left in Ireland.
