Dear Sean: What a nice surprise to hear an inquiry about the D'Arcy family connection. You are the first I have run across to inquire about them. I am not sure about the connection but this is what I know about my family's connection to the D'Arcy family. Ann D'Arcy - Loughney ( ca 1780 Co. Mayo Ireland) was my great, great, great grandmother. Estimated birth was 1780-1785 in County Mayo Island. Ann remained in Ireland and never emigrated. Married Patrick Loughney and apparantly lived in Burrishoole Parish near Newport in the Union of Westport, Barony of Burrishoole,County Mayo, Ireland. Newport is on the West Coast of County Mayo near Clew Bay, North of Westport ad west of Castlebar. In 1832 Ann and her husband Patrick Loughney were living in the town of Shannvallyhugh. Just a mile North of Newport. Her husband was a tenant farmer, in Burrishoole, County Mayo, Province of Connaught. 4 children of Ann D'Arcy & Patrick Loughney: Roger Loughney born 1802 County Mayo married twice :first was Mary Moore, second was Bridget McDonald. Patrick Loughney: Born 1814 County Mayo, Died 1874 in Sauk County, Wisconsin USA. Married Anna O"Malley Jane Loughney Mary Loughney My family connection comes through Patrick Loughney who had a daughter Cecelia Loughney who married Martin Barrington, my great grandparents . Perhaps some of this will be helpful in the future, if youdo uncover anything let me know. The Loughney's have their own webpage which is wonderful. If you get a chance you should look at it. Thanks for contacting me. George Barrington Notify Administrator about this message?
