Bernie, Sent to another the following message. I feel it also applies to family I have seen for you too. I don't know of a Daniel Dorsey/D'Arcy, but that could have been a relative of my family too. Please let me hear from you and compare notes. We may be about to break a brick wall together with others. Wow, maybe all my research is not to moot. I am definitely of Dorsey descent, but let me explain more of my family. First, I do know of the many spellings of Dorsey and my gg-grandmother was buried in ME according to census records. I had thought MD would have been where, but maybe you know more about this family than me and others that have given me information. Ouellette is to my knowledge a French Canadian name. I have tried researching other names I found on a site called "Quirks with names" some time ago. My gg-grandfather married my gg-grandmother Dorsey in 1844, Ohio. His name was spelled differently, but I have long thought Quellette was a possiblity, but couldn't prove it. He appeared from no where, and other than knowing of his wife and children, I know not where he died or when. I know his wife and some of the children were living with her father and she was listed as a widow in 1880 on the census. Census also stated my g-grandfather was born in NJ and in 1861 was found living with another family. He was born in 1854. The surname known to them, isn't connected to any others of that surname in America. Can't find them overseas either. I started researching the name Bramwell, and ended up seeing your message. I do surf from one to another when I see something familiar. I do have a partial family Bible. My g-grandfather is listed within. I know who he married and where he was buried and moved again later and why. Have you heard the American translations of the name Ouellett? Maybe we can get this straight for all. My gg-grandfather born early 1800's is my brick wall. I know not his parents. I know nothing of Dorsey in Ireland, I thought mine were from England, back to Edward III, King of England. I also know this same line includes France and Spain, so who knows, perhaps Ireland too. I know I have Robinson's from Ireland, Strum from Scotland and Rossiter, and Rosseter too. I can barely control my anxiety. Please reply. Perhaps I will post this same message elsewhere just in case you are no longer at this email address and are not notified. Thanks.
