Just found this message. I don't know if this has any common thread. My Grandmother was Anne (Annie) D'Arcy, b. Sept,1873 in a place called Porridgetown, Oughterard, Galway. Her Father was Connor D'Arcy who was a tailor also.
Connor married Catherine ("Kate") Walsh b. c1834/35, d. June 15, 1921 Her death certificate uses her nickname and states that she is the widow of a tailor. With her at the time of her death was a daughter-in-law, Bridget D'Arcy. Incidentally the name becomes Darcy. I assume from this info that my Grandmother had at least one brother. Annie migrated to Boston, MA., USA, but I don't know when. She married Joseph B. McCauley there Jan. 10, 1897 and she died Jan. 3, 1937. Hope we all can find some links. Going to Ireland in early September to chase my heritage as well as hubby's. Thanks. Hope to hear from any and all who think we might be from the same line, or close!
in Porridgetown. I have no info on Connor. Catherine
