I am researching my family, the Darbys, and cannot find any ancestry past Robert, born in 1512. I would like any information anyone might have on that lineage of the Darby Family. Here are the basics of the information I have from Robert along my family line up to my birth:
Robert Derby was born 1512 in Askerswell, Dorset, England, and died 1568 in , Dorset, , England. He married Catherine Derby on 1536 in Askerswell, Dorset, , England. Catherine Derby was born 1515 in Askerswell, Dorset, , England, and died 1568 in , Dorset, , England.
His son Nicholas Derby NICHOLAS2 DERBY (ROBERT1) was born Abt. 1545 in Askerwell, Dorset, England, and died 30 October 1599 in Brianspuddle, co. Dorset, England. He married CATHERINE BUCKLER, daughter of ALEXANDER BUCKLER and ELIZABETH ?. She was born Abt. 1549 in Askerwell, Dorset, England, and died 11 February 1605/06.
Their son CHRISTOPHER3 DERBY (NICHOLAS2, ROBERT1)4,5 was born Abt. 1571 in Dorset Co. England, and died 20 January 1639/40 in Shepton-George, Dorset Co., England. He married ANN (AGNES) SYMONDS, daughter of WILLIAM SYMONDS and ALICE MOON. She was born Abt. 1575 in Exeter, Devon, England, and died May 1649.
JOHN4 DERBY (CHRISTOPHER3, NICHOLAS2, ROBERT1)7 was born Abt. 1610 in Burton-Bradstock, co. Dorset, England, and died 1656 in Yarmouth, Mass.. He married (1) ?. He married (2) ALICE BLUSH 1647 in Yarmouth, New Plymouth Colony, Mass.
Notes for JOHN DERBY:
John first shows up in Plymouth New England in 1637 being granted threescore acres of land at Mounts Hill by Court of Assistants on 6 August of that year. About 1643 he removed to Yarmouth and his name appears in that year on the Yarmouth list of men able to bear arms.
