The D'Aoust Family Project began out of an interest by Bob D'Aoust in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada to record and document the D'Aoust family tree. Along the way he has come across many other individuals who had either began at one time to do the same thing but had eventually given up after hitting a dead end in their research or who had only done so much research as pertained to their immediate family line. With the contribution of their material to that of the already large database Bob has collected, the project has grown exponentially. .....Personally, Bob has spent over 5.5 years and 2,950 hours putting together a D'Aoust family genealogy, which he eventually plans to publish for everyone to enjoy. He has amassed over 19,129 Names, encompassing 7890 Marriages, and over 5245 D'Aoust's, Daoust's, Dault's, Deault's, Dauth's (2805 Males, 2440 Females). One hundered percent of all the D'Aoust's, Daoust's, Dault's, etc. that are recorded can be linked back to late 16th century France. All of the information is sourced and reliable. In order to maintain the work's integrity, any information which was questionable was either omitted completely or clearly labeled as being approximations. .....In an attempt to include everyone interested Bob began contacting D'Aousts all across Canada and throughout the U.S., informing them of his research and has asked them for submissions to the project. Encountering nothing but genuine enthusiasm along the way, the project is now being promoted on the World Wide Web in hopes to attain the same kind of support from people like yourself. If you are interested by this, and think you would like to help, here's how: 1. Most of the family lines end in the early 1900's. If you could provide the project co-ordinators with accurate information on yourself and other D'Aoust family members in this century, then we could provide you with the information on your line going back close to 400 years! 2. So far, most of the information consists of names, places and dates. In order to enrichen the pages of the book we would love to add a paragraph or two of information on the lives of those entered (possible examples could include: occupations, unique experiences, personality traits, physical traits, etc.). This is the human side of the project, the kind of stuff that teaches us who our ancestors really were. 3. A final way you could contribute is by offering any suggestions you might think helpful, either in aiding us in our research or in the overall development of the book.
