My maiden name is alos D'aoust, changed to Doe. I live in Windsor, Ontario and was told that my great grandfather or great - great grandfather (I'm not sure) was the one who changed it. I don't know that much down the line on my family tree but my Grandfather's name was Alex Doe (married to Lorraine Couvillon).
