Dantzler Family Genealogy Forum

I started my research in March of 1999, I am researching Caswell Dantzler. He is listed as a 60-year-old black male on the census report for Noxubee Co. Macon MS. Beat#2, (Shuqualak) or (Sugarlock). He was not listed by name on the 1860 slave schedule for Noxubee County MS. Beat#2. The only name that appeared on the schedule was Jon L. Dantzler as owner. John L. Dantzler was the only Dantzler listed on the 1860 slave schedule but that doesn't mean that his brother D.A.J. Dantzler wasn't with him in Noxubee Co. MS. I have found in my research that john L. Dantzlers Father was Private Jacob Dantzler; b 1742, d1790; of Orangeburg South Carolina; m.Barbara Carn 1768; Ch.: John Lewis Dantzler (Sr.) m. (Elizabeth Hurger; Desc: Mrs. Elizabeth Dantzler Grayson. John L. Dantzler (Sr.) came to Green County Mississippi in 1920, his second wife was Ann, I don't know when or what her maiden name is. John L. and Elizabeth Dantzler's Children were D.A.V. Dantzler, b 18 Dec 1814, d 1877, m. Martha G. Howard, Millicent Rachael Dantzler, b 1819, m. Norman McLeod, Washington Dantzler, b 1821, John Lewis Dantzler, b 6 Sep 1822, d 2 Jul 1906, m. Lucy Ann Gholson, Abosolom Frederick Dantzler, b 1827, m. Susanna Milsaps, (Jack) Lorenzo Nolley Dantzler, b 31 Dec 1833, d 11 Dec 1906, m. (1) Evan Griffin, (2) Sarah Eran. I hope that this information will help you in your research. If you should ever have the opportunity to come across some Bills of Sale, Probate Records, Wills, Family property or Financial Records with information about Caswell Dantzler or any transaction dealing with slaves, I would really appreciate the information.
