Hello Ed: Yes, this is confusing. Daisy and Anna were whole sisters by the unknown first wife and David. Daisy was the oldest and Anna the youngest. Now, Frances did not have a middle name according to my mother. David was not her first husband and Stroman was Frances maiden name. I didn't know her first married name. I do know this for a fact. Frances was married before and when she married David, she brought along a daughter from her first marriage. Her name was Essie. I do not know her maiden name, but her married name was Alston. She married Paul Alston and they had two sons,Joe Nathan (Paul, Jr.) and Nathaniel. Essie was never mention in any of the census records. There was three daughter's in the household before Frances had her five children with David. The five are numbers 8-12 on your list. When I spoke to my mother today, I read your message to her, she does not know any of the name on this list other than #2, 8-12. In David's first marriage, the child unknown would make Anna older than Daisy. Number one in second marriage??? On Frances gravestone, it reads 1880-1945. I do mean that dates in those days didn't make a difference or not important for the blacks/negros/colored people, it just was not important. Numbers 3-7, my mother states that she do not know the names or the people. The Anna borned earlier, maybe that's my great grandmother??? My mom was raised up as Annie Mae and when she received her birth certificate, it stated Anna Mae. Even the birth date was incorrect. She went by May 7, 1924 and the certificate stated, May 8, 1923. This information was recorded a year later. Whoever does the recording did not take their job in good faith (didn't care). At this point, I do not know how to deal with this information. I always used to ask my great aunt Albertha questions about her childhood. That's how I found out that she was my grandmother's half sister. I have heard of other family members and friends to tell me that people in those days, always told children to stay out of adults conversations and go somewhere and play...My family never told me this and I always ask questions up to present day. Thats how you find things out. I really appreciate all that you have gone through to get to this point. I'm having fun with this, you learn something everyday. I need to get the address to the church they attended and ask questions there to see what puzzle they can solve there. I would be surprise to know the first wife's name. Thanks alot, Charlese Notify Administrator about this message?
