Hi Thelma

Gosh that’s a little freaky, we are 3 generations apart, your line being the youngest son of the youngest son etc. I reckon we you are my third cousin thrice removed! What one describes as distant but fascinating.

My father is Thomas Charles Hardy 1924, his father Walter Harold 1896-1966, his mother Louise Alice Cardy 1869-1960 and her parents John Cardy and Susannah Danzey (the spelling being from Louisa’s birth certificate).

Sorry, I only have a William Cardy c.30/11/1823 at St. Andrew’s, Wormingford, Essex, marrying a Ruth ? and he was the son of Thomas Cardy and Edith Crussell. I have 5 other William’s but not in that era.

Regards! Graham
