I don't know Leonard's wife's name (or even if he was married.) His full name was Henry Leonard Dansby but it appears he dropped the "Henry" very early; I don't know his father's first name or even where Leonard was born, just that he died in San Antonio in 1986. There is a very good chance that he did live in Calif., at least for a while, as his maternal grandparents spent several years there, and his Aunt Ruth (maternal aunt) and cousins lived in Calif. from at least 1910 onwards to present. Sorry I don't know more; I am approaching from the maternal side looking for possible Dansby descendants through Leonard, or any brothers or sisters if he had any (and perhaps he didn't). The mother of the Leonard I'm looking for was named Ellice Churchill Von Dorn (or Vondorn or Vandorn). Does your cousin Leonard match the dates given in my original post, 1920-1986?
Ellice Von Dorn's father was Calvin Von Dorn (that's what he went by but it is a mistake; the family name is VAN DORN.) Calvin suffered from tuberculosis and moved around the country a lot looking for a climate that would help. After living in California he wound up in San Antonio and died there in 1915. It looks like his daughter Ellice may have settled there and married there but I don't know for sure. I believe her name was pronounced "Ellis" but again am not sure. The cousins in Calif. seem to have lost touch with this line.
Any help appreciated.
