I have a copy of "Early Settlers of Barbour County Alabama , Vol.I & II" by Marie Godfrey which has a listing of Dansbys. In that book, Isham Beal Dansby was born 9/5/1855 in Alabama and died 10/28/1915. "May have married Mary Joiner 20 June 1872. He is buried in Elam Baptist Church Cemetary." I would trust your info. though since it says "may have". It does not list their children. Siblings, however, of Isham Beal are Hiram, Martha, Elizabeth, Daniel, John, Winzey, George, Catherine, Jane, Mahala (my great, great, great....), Monroe, and Mary. They are all the children of John Dansby and Sarah (last name unknown). He was b. 1805 in South Carolina and she was born ca.1814-1817 in Georgia. Johns' sibs were Daniel M., Isham M., Catharine, and Mary. "Daniel M. Dansby first entered land in 1827 in the South- western edge of what is now Barbour co., Ala. In 1834, he and John Dansby entered 40 acres jointly near Palmyra Church, North of the Indian Boundary Line. In 1835 and 1838, John Dansby entered more land near Daniel M. Dansby's original patent. Charles Dansby entered land in 1836 in what is now Bullock, Co.,Ala. Winza Dansby, a widow, was born ca 1872. The name of her husband does not appear in the Barbour Co. records. She died after 1850, as she was enumerated that year in the household of Jesse Johns (her daughter Catharine's husband) in Pike Co., Ala."- text from above mentioned Barbour Co. record. I'll send you an e-mail to let you know about another distant cousin I've found who has more info. Nadine
