My GGGrandfather's second wife was Amanda Danley, daughter of George W. Danley and Nancy A. ---. She was the sister of Hezakiah K. Danley. Amanda and my GGGrandfather John Wesley Langley married July 4, 1880 in Palo Pinto Co. Texas. They owned and resided on a farm near Santo, Palo Pinto Co. Texas. My Grandfather later inhereted the farm where I was born. Amanda and John had 9 children, their first died at birth November 15, 1882. Amanda raised my Grandfather and his three Brothers.
George and Nancy were in Hood County in the 1800, then went to Palo Pinto Co. and operated a farm next to my GGGrandfather John. John Langley's first wife died in 1879 during childbirth, and John married his neighbor Amanda Danley. George Danley and Nancy are buried at Bosley Cemetery, near Santo, Palo Pinto Co, Texas. George was born September 1821 in Tennessee, and died May 19, 1895 at home in Palo Pinto Co. Texas. Nancy A. Danley was born September 6, 1812 in Tennessee, she died August 3, 1882, and is buried beside George and next to Amanda and John's infant son. John Langley is buried next to his first wife at Bosley Cemetery. Amanda married again about 1921, after her and John's children were grown. She married the second time Frank Chestnut of Santo, Texas, Palo Pinto Co. She Died July 1941 at Santo where she and Frank Chestnut resided. I remember her when I was a small child of three or four. She often walk to our house to visit which was the next block over. She would bring us little gifts and fruit. Amanda is buried at the East Cemetery at Santo, Palo Pinto Co. Texas.
I have photos of the Graves and markers. Also I have a photo of Amanda and two of her daughters.
I have all of Amanda's and John's children and some of their Spouses, and their birth dates.
I will be willing to share with anyone who is interested.
