In doing a search for my BATES, I found your message on the board which you had posted regarding a DANIELS/WALTERS MARRIAGE, Dec 18, 2001, #428:

Would you have any more info on your JOHN R. DANIEL married to LUCY WALTERS? There is a strong possibility that your DANIEL/WALTERS is also mine listed below. My Grandmother of Danville, Pittsylvania Co., VA had a Great-grandmother, Elinor WALTERS who married William Henry HARDY of Pittsylvania Co., VA. In the Bible of Elinor’s daughter, Sarah Elizabeth HARDY, she enters a Lucy WALTERS married to a DANIELS (No first name).

5. Dick Walters
6. Sallie Walters married CARTER.
7. Lucy Walters married DANIELS
8. Elinor Walters married William Henry Hardy. (Ellen-census/Ellender-marriage for child/Elinor-Bible WALTERS)
According to the 1850 Census Record, Elinor was born Abt. 1819, therefore our Lucy WALTERS would have been born in this time frame. Would that time frame match up with the time frame of Karen Cotter’s, LUCY WALTERS married to JOHN R. DANIEL?

Their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hardy, b 27 April 1842, d. 4 Sept 1933, Age 91 years 5 months, 7 days married James Henry JENNINGS, son of Byrd Thomas JENNINGS and Martha George BRIGHTWELL, on 5 October 1865, Pittsylvania Co., VA. (Parents: Jason BRIGHTWELL/Jane Goode POINDEXTER; Grandparents: George Crymes POINDEXTER/Nancy HINTON)
Their daughter, Edna Alice JENNINGS of Danville, VA married JOSEPH KIRBY WILKINS, son of William Thomas WILKINS

QUESTIONS:
1. In the JOHN BATES II/Hannah TRUDALL LINE, I am not sure if John BATES II married to Susannah Tarleton FLEMING descends from the Hannah TRUDALL OR Elizabeth DANIEL MARRIAGE to JOHN BATES II?
Would anyone be able to help me on this issue or would anyone have any proof one way or another?
2. Who were the parents of the ELIZABETH DANIEL born between 1645-1655 married to JOHN BATES II?
3. Birth dates/marriage date for ELIZABETH DANIEL?
4. Who were the parents of ANN BROWNE married to JOHN WALL? Need birth dates/marriage dates/children for both.
5. Who were the parents of SARAH HUGHES, wife of THOMAS ATKINSON? I see Stephen HUGHES associated with her after the death of THOMAS ATKINSON BUT I believe he must be a brother to Sarah HUGHES?
6. AM SEEKING INFO/DOCUMENTATION ON THE "WISTER" MIDDLE NAME FOR ROBERT WISTER WALTERS. Some researchers have him as Robert "Clement" WALTERS, Jr., namesake of his father.
Our family Bible does not give a middle name for Robert WALTERS. One group of WALTERS researchers have his middle initial as “C”, possibly for “Clement” since his Grandmother was Lucy Clement Walker; possibly just Lucy Clement. Some researchers are
Questioning whether she was Lucy CLEMENT and had a first marriage to a WALKER, then a second marriage to Lt. Robert WALTERS DUE to the fact that middle names were rarely used back then.
However, on the LDS website, a WALTERS descendant uses the middle name of “WISTER”. I have not been able to verify this middle name; nor can I figure out a family connection to the name “WISTER”.
7. According to the 1850 Census Record, Elinor was born Abt. 1819, therefore our Lucy WALTERS would have been born in this time frame. Would that time frame match up with the time frame of Karen Cotter’s, LUCY WALTERS married to JOHN R. DANIEL?
