Elva C. Daniels Holts Summit Feb. 15, 1923 - Aug. 23, 2001
HANNIBAL - Elva C. Daniels, 78, of Holts Summit and formerly of Hannibal, died at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at the Grand View Funeral Chapel. President Matthew Shuck will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Daniels was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Kinderhook, Ill., to George L. and M. Lenora Nichols Hinch.
She was married to Jewell Daniels on Sept. 14, 1940. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Daniels of Holts Summit and George Daniels of New London; two sisters, Naomi Smith and Ellen Fisher, both of Hannibal; five grandchildren, Donald Daniels Jr., Gina Saxbury, Rebecca Morgan, Jewelline Daniels and Tammy Daly; six stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Hinch and Harold Hinch; one sister, Ottolene Edwards; and one grandson, Robert D. Daniels.
Mrs. Daniels was a lifelong resident of the Hannibal area. She had lived in Holts Summit for four weeks. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hannibal. For many years she had worked at various shoe factories in Hannibal and was a proofreader at Western Publishing for 12 years.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Pallbearers will be Gary Fisher, Harry (Butch) Fisher Jr., James Smith, Les Smith, Joe Hinch and Pattie Hinch.
