On findagrave.com there is a Mattie Danielly Higgins whose tombstone is pictured, dod Oct 31 1888. Higgins Cem., Chambers Co., AL.
1880 census:

A 1900 census (Chambers Co., AL) has a John (L.) Higgins married to a Fannie (Fannie Whatley, again per findagrave.com). Both are buried in the same cem. as Mattie Danielly Higgins.
On rootsweb.com, there is a marriage date for John T. & Fannie Whatley Higgins, May 24 1887, a year before Mattie died. Could there have been a divorce? I haven't found a mention of one.
Is the date on Mattie's tombstone incorrect, or is the marr. date, as listed, incorrect. I have not seen a copy of the marr. paperwork.
I'm questioning this because of the children listed in the 1900 census. There is a Pierce Higgins b. Sep 1878, listed as a boarder, the bdate matches that of James P. in the 1880 census. Mattie's mother's surname was Pierson.
There is a dau. named Lola, bdate Jun 1880.
There is a son, Walton, bdate Jun 3 1888. Is this a son of Mattie's, her tombstone says she died in Oct 1888, OR is this a son of Fannie's, whose listed marriage date is 1887?????
I would appreciate any information on this family. Before now all I had seen listed on an old Danielly family website was that Martha had married an unknown first name Higgins.
