Gill,

My information says that Sir William Daniell (son of Ralph Allen Daniell) joined the navy as a midshipman in March 1808 and was the captain (with the rank of Commander) of HMS Ringdove, when he died off Sierra Leone on 12th September 1845.

Regarding the children of Thomas Daniell and Elizabeth Elliott, I am aware of Thomas (died young), Ralph Allen and Elizabeth. Do you have any information on the fourth child you mentioned?

Paul Geddes
