I started my family tree 31 years ago, when I graduated high school. It was hard back then, especially since I was poor, and you had to go to libraries and courthouses to buy copies of the info! It's SO much easier now! And I've learned SO much about history in order to solve the mysteries. For instance, if you have a relative, or several relatives, who died in 1918...chances are it was Spanish Flu. There was a "pandemic" in 1918. A million or so people died from it. A lot of Irish people came over during the "Potato Famine" in the early 1800's. So if you can't find records of your Irish family in the America, in the early 1800's, try Ireland. If you have Indian blood in your line, you need tocheck the "Indian Rolls". You can find a lot on the LDS (Mormon) website, www.familysearch.com; www.rootsweb.com; and if you like to spend a lot of money...www.ancestory.com. Hope this helps you. I love Genealogy! It's fun! Donna
