Good for you Betty! I am a Daniels, descended from Daniell. My guess is that my grandfather gave up on correcting people and picked up the Daniels spelling as did all 8 siblings. He understood his heritage and made sure it was passed on, but my father was always a Daniels. Doesn't make us bad people!
