Ken Daniell 11/24/01
Ken - perhaps we are going off at a tangent! At present the earliest Daniell I have is a Thomas marrying Elizabeth Eliott in 1754 (Truro).I have been following the family by name of Allen from late 1500s this had brought me to the Daniell marriage and due to the way this family developed and its importance in society and commerce in Cornwall has led me to follow it further.
Thomas and Elizabeth had 4 children.Ralph Allen Daniell succeeded and had 18 (!) all of whom had more etc. etc.I don't need to trace Thomas Daniell backwards, but I do have some notes on 3 generations of male line.
There is evidence that one, William, born 28 Sept 1793 went to Africa, unm (?) and another Edward to New Zealand with wife Julia in 1839/40s.I have some info on Edward (see also message board) but nothing on William. How ever do you search so far afield?
I have no trace of any Richards but a Robert has now appeared, being born somewhere c1818-1830.
If you have any other names connected with Cornwall I would be pleased to hear and exchange notes, or send you more info on those I have.
The name Ralph Allen Daniell is used by nearly every Branch-quite confusing-and goes back to my original investigations based on Ralph Allen (Allen surname) of Cornwall and later founder of the postal system and Georgian Bath.
