Although census records are an important tool in research, as you know there can be many errors. Having said that, I think this might be your wife’s Daniel family. I use HeritageQuest online through my library i.d. card.
1910 Kentucky, Ohio County
Culvin Daniel, age 68, (possibly 63) married twice, 2nd marriage 3 years earlier; place of birth, KY, father’s p.b., KY, mother’s p.b., VA
The enumerator wrote Ara’s name as Sarah.
Sarah Daniel, wife, age 24, married once, had given birth to 1 child, 1 living
Cecil Daniel, son, age 2 yrs.
Martha Coleman, mother-in-law, age 51, b. KY
Culvin’s brother-in-law is indexed as Felix Hut. However, I believe this is Ara Belle’s brother, Fitz Hurtt (Fitzhugh Hurtt), who was living with them.
1900 Kentucky, Ohio County
Heritage Quest indexed his name as Calvin Daniel, but in reading the census image it is clearly Culvin Daniel.

Amelia A. Daniel, daughter, b. May 1875, KY
Fanie (Fannie) Daniel, daughter, b. Feb. 1885, KY.
1880 Kentucky, Ohio County
The enumerator seems to insist on writing Calvin rather than Culvin.

Martha Daniel, wife, age 26
Robert L. Daniel, son, age 9
Alice B. Daniel, daughter, age 7
Parmelia Daniel, daughter, age 3 (This might be the Amelia of 1900.)
Vidula Daniel, daughter, age 1
His parents were living with them:
Walker Daniel, father, age 76, KY, VA, VA
Mary Daniel, mother, age 74, VA, VA, VA.
Living next door was a Robert H. Daniel, probably Culvin’s brother.
I don’t have them for 1870 or 1860, but did find this:
1850 Kentucky, Daviess County
Walker Daniel, age 47, b. KY
Mary A. Daniel, age 40, b. VA
All the children were born in KY
Elizth Daniel (Elizabeth, I assume) age 21
John Daniel, age 18
Thomas Daniel, age 14
Mary Daniel, age 11
Robt Daniel, age 7
Calvin Daniel, age 3
Margaret Daniel, age 6 mos.
