You are correct, Woodson did have a son David who married Margaret Linch (Lynch) in Wake County in 1781. To my knowledge this David never was in Edgecombe or Nash. He is still in Wake as late as 1795 and is found in early 1800's living near brother James in Rowan County, NC.
