Hi Karel:
Even though it has been a couple of years since your messages were posted on Gen Forum, I hope that I can connect with you. I believe that you might be able to help with my search.

Could it be that my Dunford ancestors and your Danford ancestors of Grimes County, TX might be from the same line?

I have traced my Dunford roots back to my g-grandfather and then I hit the wall. Perhaps it is because the name some how got changed.

Here is my Dunford pedigree:
My father Drew Charlie Dunford B:10/17/1900 in Hill County,Tx to James Lawrence Dunford B:7/28/1874 & Sarah Elizabeth Cotter in Grimes County TX. He was the son of James Thomas Dunford B:1846 & Donna "Donnie" Atkinson. James Thomas Dunford was born in Simpson County, MS parents unknown. He and Donnie were married in 1870 in Montague County, TX. I found a John T. Dunford and a Phillip Parker Dunford both residing in Montague County at that time. Because their dates of birth are close to James Thomas, I suspect that they may be his brothers. John and Phillip each list their parents as being John &Sarah Dunford both born in NC. I have not found the parents name listed on any of my research on my g-grandfather, therefore I don't know if he is connected to John and Phillip.

It just seems to me that the names Dunford and Danford both in Grimes County mut have some connection.

I know this is a long and involved message but just maybe some one out there will have a clue.

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks,
Margie
