don't know of a German descent, but do know that the original Dane who came from England to Ireland sometimes spelt his name Dean or Deane. It seems after his offspring were born the name settled as Dane.
However I have seen references to Danes (not the variety from Denmark!)on some websites I happened upon, who came to England as far back as 1100's and 900's and who appeared to be French or Norman. Maybe some of that line settled in Germany?
You could spend a lifetime sorting that one! I'm having difficulty locating my great Grandfathers details.
Happy hunting
and Happy new year!
