Rev. Francis Dane - - - Witchrod

If a lightning rod attracts lightning then I've invented the word witchrod to mean one who attracks accusations of witchcraft towards themselves or their kin. In the case of Salem Village that person was Israel Porter. He was never accused but ten or fifteen of his family or associates were. In Andover, Mass. that person was the Reverend Francis Dane. The following list should help clarify.

YOU DID NOT LIST HIS DAUGHTER ABIGAIL DANE WHO MARRIED FRANCIS FAULKNER. They are my 7 great grandparents. Don't you mean ATTRACTS - not - ATTRACKS ACCUSATIONS. I think you may have her confused with a granddaughter you have listed?

This FAULKNER/DANE FAMILY was quite affluent and it is thought that others were jealous of their good fortune.

ABIGAIL DANE WAS CONVICTED OF WITCHCRAFT BUT WAS SAVED FROM HANGING BECAUSE SHE WAS PREGNANT (AS IT HAPPENS) WITH MY 6 GREAT GRANDFATHER, AMMI RUHAMAH FAULKNER. BY THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH THE HYSTERIA THAT HAD GRIPPED THESE COMMUNITIES WAS MERCIFULLY PAST. THERE IS QUITE A BIT ONLINE ABOUT ABIGAIL DANE. (FAULKNER) I descend thus:
ABIGAIL DANE & FRANCIS FAULKNER
AMMI RUHAMAH FAULKNER & HANNAH INGALLS
LT. NATHANIEL FAULKNER & CATHERINE EVELETH
NATHANIEL FAULKNER, JR & SUSANNAH COX
CATHERINE EVELETH FAULKNER & SOLOMON SMITH
CATHERINE EMILY SMITH & GEORGE WASHINGTON RUSSELL

JACQUELINE SLEEPER RUSSELL (MAY WE LEARN GREAT LESSONS FROM THIS INSANE TIME IN OUR EARLY HISTORY)
