I found your message whilst researching into my own family history and I have the full explanation as to why Mr. and Mrs. Dando were at New Hill Villas.
My name is John T. Dando and Asquith and Winifred were my parents. We moved to 2 New Hill Villas in Goodwick as lodgers (my parents, myself and my sister Irene) prior to purchasing our own property in Plas-y-Gamil Road in Goodwick. My father was a Customs Officer and was transferred from Barry to Goodwick in 1946.I can remember that the McCormacks were indeed of Irish descent and as far as my memory serves me they had two children - a boy and a girl.
Believe this or not we have just returned today from a trip to Wales and we stayed in Goodwick for two nights (28th/29th July 2001) visiting all the places that I knew as a child.I was 10 when we moved there and 14 when we left for Weymouth in Dorset when again my father was transferred.I have taken photographs of New Hill Villas!!How spooky is that!My wife could not believe her eyes when she saw the names of my parents on the screen.
Anyway, if you wish to contact me again, please do.If I can be of any further help I will try.
Regards,
John T. Dando
