Per a book by James Branch Cabell titled, "The Majors and Their Marriages," Francis Dancy and his wife Amy had several children, including a younger Francis Dancy who was a sheriff in Charles City Co., VA. That younger Frances Dancy was the father of the Mary Dancy (among several other children) who married a Mr. Davidson (Solomon Davidson, per my research).
The older Francis Dancy and his wife Amy also had a son who was named Benjamin Dancy (who apparently never married), so he would have been the Benjamin Dancy (died by 1771) who directed in his will that his niece (i.e., his brother's daughter) Mrs. Mary (Dancy) Davidson have a female slave for life.
There was another (apparently) Mrs. Mary Davidson is this overall Davidson family who died in Charles City Co., VA about 1793, and who had a daughter who was named Mrs. Mary (Davidson) Major. I do not know the "Davidson husband" of this Mrs. Mary (Unknown) Davidson, nor do I know the "Major husband" of her daughter Mrs. Mary (Davidson) Major. An Edward Davidson was a witness to the will of this Mrs. Mary (Unknown) Davidson.
