I am an attorney in Lafayette, Louisiana. My father, Wm H. Mouton (who practiced law from 1932 to 1999) died in February 2002, and we have been going through his old
papers and files. Pop was one of the early oil & gas title examiners in Louisiana and one of his projects dealt with Col Francis Dancy and his property in Louisiana. It was obviously from some oil companies review of his property ownership and heirship as the file contained a very large chart of Col Francis Dancy and his heirs that had been prepared for this title opinion.
I had decided yesterday that it would be nice to find someone in his family interested in his genealogy and send a copy to him, so I got on google and did a search which resulted in this site.
If anyone is interested please send me your snail mail address I will be very glad to send a copy of this to you. It begins with Col Francis Dancy and his spouse, Elizabeth Mason and goes through 5 generation of heirs. Not sure of accuracy but it must have some value for genealogy.
If this gets popular I can take a digital photo and post it.
