I remember my Grandmother (Ora Lee Wilcox) talking about a Boyd Dancy in our family.
My Grandmother was married to Vernon Dancy and then had my father, James Vernon Dancy, who was in the Merchant Marines and Married a girl from Scotland (in NYC)named Jessie Tarbet.. and then along came me who was originally born with the name Jimmy Lee Dancy but the State registry changed it to James.
My Father & mother split when I was two and I grew up in NYC until I went to the Army in 1966 at 17. Dont know much about the NC side of my family except that I went to my Grandmother's house in NC about 1982 and met some folks but dont remember much as I was there to see my father for the first time in 30+ years...and was taken to his grave site.
Any names ring a bell??
