Hello from another Dancer. I was born in 1938 in Stoke Common a small village near to Slough Buckinghamshire. My family tree, researched by my son Kevin, goes back to the mid 1600s and considering the number of Dancer's around the Bucks area one of the ancestors must have had a very fast horse. I was interested in the reference to glass working as during my delving I came across John Benjamin Dancer 1812-1887 inventor of microphotography and instrument maker. In 1869 was appointed Optician to HRH The Prince of Wales. Type in his name on Google for the full history. Unfortunately I cannot connect him to our tree at the moment as place of birth only given as London son of Josiah 1779-1835 and grandson of Michael (d1817). We all hope to learn of somebody famous. Although I now live in Cardiff S.Wales family and relations are still in the original location. Hope this might lead to something more by opening a few more connections. Regards Ken.
