Thanks so much, Rebecca. I plan on going up to Wendover sometime soon to check it out; it sounds like a lovely place. From records I have seen, it seems at though another Samuel Dancer (I think the son of 'ours') owned a pub there! I also just noticed that there is a park area close to Wendover (on the map) that is called "Dancer's End", which I definitely need to see! However, I've got ancestors all over this country, so it might take me a lifetime to trace all the lines.

I wondered about the Catherine / Kitty thing, thinking that they might be two names for the same person. However, there was a Catherine Dancer who died in Wycombe (or the death was registered there) in 1839, and I wondered if it might be her (as Kitty showed up shortly after).

Anyway, I hope we can keep in touch. Thanks for your help.
