Thanks for your message and for information on Samuel about whom I know nothing. I have actually been doing some Dancer research this weekend and the old details were slightly wrong.
Firstly, I believe Catherine and Kitty are the same person - in the Parish Records both names are used for Sylvester's wife and Catherine Dancer is on the 1851 census at Wendover, a widow living with son Thomas - and the details all fit.
My line of descent I have verified from parish records as follows:
• Joseph Dancer married Sarah Forrest 7 Feb 1758 Wendover
• Sylvester Dancer bap 26 Jan 1763 Wendover
• Sylvester Dancer (of Wendover) married Kitty Ford at West Wycombe 18 Apr 1789
Children of Sylvester and Catherine: (approx dates, not all verified from parish registers yet)
Elizabeth 1789
Sarah 1791
Joseph 1797
Samuel 1801
Fanny Dancer b 1803 Wendover m John Cooper 1823 Wendover
Thomas 1805
James 1806
