I hope you are still reading this, as you posted a long time ago now. I'm a Canadian, living in England and researching my family. We definitely have ancestors in common! My g.g. Grandmother, Sophia Dancer was born in Wendover, Bucks to Samuel and Mary Ann Dancer. Samuel was born in 1801, son of Sylvester and Catherine Dancer. From records I have found, it looks as if Catherine died in 1839 in Wycombe, and Sylvester re-married Kitty (they appear on the 1841 Census).

If you are interested, Sophia Dancer married Gaius John Heyward in 1862. Their daughter Flora Mabel (my g. grandmother) later emigrated to Canada with her daughter, and re-married there.
