Joann,
We have lots of missing bits here and there. In 1999 or so we had lots of dates and place names get eaten by our computer somehow after we downloaded the information once--the names stayed but some of the other fields just dissappeared--you can imagine how frustrating in a BIG database how much that upset us. I am sure it was 5-6 years before I could even stand to think about tackling looking to even find the ones which had stuff gone...So you getting back in the saddle after one is very good! We'll appreciate anything you have, too-- computer or snail mail. I will give you my email or address if you want to send that way.

A Ruthe Whitney-Dance here on the Dance genforum( I think--have to double check but I had trouble with her email) has a lot of info, too. One fun thing she told me was that we had a Barzillia Dance who we thought must be a woman with that "a" ending on the name but who was actually very definitely a man who got saddled with the name "Barzilla" --poor guy!!! She knew he and other close Dance relatives had all written and signed various petitions to the Virginia legislature of the day--which back then could only be done by males for those type of documents. I need to try to get back with her to get that all straightened out--I am pretty sure it will be the first transgender Dance so far in history! Thank goodness only due to someones data entry error somewhere back in time and easy to fix!
