Dana: Having a hard time connecting back to you!! Responding to your 31 Jan 2012 reply for which I thank you! Re: the Brice Prather connection, I don't favor him at all! In the 1860 Census for Izard Co., AR, with Jenkins is a CHARLES PRATER, age 24 (born 1836) assuming to be a BROTHER! Brice's son Charles was born ca 1824!! I don't see that our Jenkins Prather family was ever in Tennessee where the Brice Prather family was located unless in their travels to Arkansas from Kentucky. A side note: there is another "Jenkins Prather" in Missouri in Civil War at the same time our Jenkins in enlisted in Arkansas 27th Reg. I have a family story connected to Jesse James also! The family tradition is that Jesse snuck into Montgomery Co., N.C. under cover of dark to visit his relatives...always wondered who that might have been, then I found a SARAH JAMES (gggggrandmother). Know her siblings and father's name, think he must be a cousin! Do you have a definite family record that Jenkins name is JOHN JENKINS JENNINGS PRATHER? I have been searching deligently and can find NOTHING on him.... You mention that "the family ENDED BACK IN RAY CO. MISSOURI"...there are no records to indicate that! Can definitely track them from Kentucky to Arkansas and then to Missouri, mainly from the Children's birth states. I'll keep on searching...thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it!
