Am editor of a quarterly. Presently am researching and writing a June article on the Mahan/Dana/Towne families, particularly the marriages & lives of Asa Dana/Eunice Towne; Samuel Mahan/Anna Dana; and their son, Asa Mahan/Mary Strong.
Have found much info about Samuel Mahan, b. 13 Apr 1760 at
Worcester, Worcester to "William Jr. and Mary Dana." Have Samuel's Rev. War pension file which is very helpful in tracking him: b. 1760, lived in Worcester until 1793; in Union, Windham Co., CT five years (where he m. 2nd wife); back to Worcester for abt. 1 yr.; then to Westmoreland, Oneida Co., NY for a few months; then Vernon NY - 7 yrs., Augusta NY - 1 yr; Westmoreland again for 4 years, then Orangeville, Genesee Co. for 21 yrs. (report 1832). He came to NY with Asa Dana and his family in 1799; Has part about Dr. Charles Jenison in pension record, too.
Really would like to know where you found the data on
Samuel's children that you have listed. Would be very happy to share with you what I have discovered, if you could give me that information.
Thanks,
Shirley
