Hello David,
I live in Oregon also. My husband and I have been renovating an old house in Hillsboro and I found some old newspapers that the previous owner lined some attic shelves with. Well, to make a long story short your grandfather's obit was in the Oregonian May20, 1962. I would be happy to mail it to you if you don't already have a copy or I could just send by email. I have been doing genealogy for years and knew I should save these obits. for people reseaching their roots. I just searched genforum for the surnames in an effort to connect with people who might be interested. According to the article George P DaMetz was born in Washington,Kan March 15, 1894. He was survived by his widow, Fannie E.,one son,William G.,Oak Grove, and two grandchildren.
