Hi John,
It is nice to hear from another researcher, especially from the Macon Co, IL branch. My grandmother was Ethel Damery (1884-1970), daughter of James Thomas Damery (1855-1913)and Naomi Nicholls. James was a son of Richard Damery(1824-1891) and his first wife Mary Ellen Knight. I have quite a bit of info on all of the descendants of Richard Damery, but my info prior to that is more sketchy.
I know that Richard was a son of James and Elizabeth Gosnell Damery who were both born in County Cork and died in Granby, Hartford Co, CT. I do have some info on the children of Richard's siblings. If you would like more details on the info I have, please check my FamilyTreeMaker website at: www.familytreemaker.com/users/r/i/c/Cynthia-M-Rice/index.html
I have info on even more generations up through recent times, but I thought I should not include them online to protect privacy of living individuals. Not everyone wants their personal info published online. Anyway, I was trying to figure out how you fit in. The only John Damery I have in my recent generations database was a son of Charles Arthur Damery, grandson of James Thomas Damery, great-grandson of John Luther Damery (1891-1953) who was a younger brother of my grandmother Ethel May Damery Rice. Are you this John Damery? If not, please let me know how you are related.
I was born in Decatur, moved to St. Louis as a kid, then moved to Indianapolis in 1987 where I live now. My Dad was Howard Rice (1918-1993) who grew up in Blue Mound. I hope you check out my website, as there are many photos that might interest you. Please let me know if you see any discrepencies in the info I have. I would like to find the Ireland connections. Some of the Damerys went to Newfoundland, Canada, and New Zealand when they left Ireland and there appears to be many people researching these branches also. I will keep in touch with any findings. Sincerely, Cindy Rice
