Terry,
Where did you get the date 1783 as marriage date for George?I show 1785.He was a prisoner of the British from March 1779 (20 years of age) until October 1783.I show he married S. Boyd on 5 Jan. 1785.That would make David about 14 in May of 1800.
I'm beginning to think David may have been the son of George ( as the Compendium of American Genealogy suggests) but not the George in Lincoln County.I've sent to Mr. Chaney for the charts of the Dameron offsprings from Lawrence on down and plan to see if a time line of those offsprings may offer a clue.David would be about the age of the children of Joseph Sr. in Caswell County. The father would be about the same age as Joseph Sr.I plan to look at contemporaries in both Caswell and Va. for a clue.William in Lincoln County would be about the right age too.
