Amy-
I sent you this information by email but will repeat it here in case other of our kin read these messages.

Yes, I am descended from William ATKINS (b. 1845 TN) who married Marcella DIAL (b. 1848 Hopkins Co TX) in 1865 Hopkins Co TX - I have a copy of their marriage certificate.

William's father was Ephraim ATKINS (b. 1820 NC) who married Rebecca DAMERON (b. 1824 TN) in 1841. Ephraim's family is listed on the 1850 McNairy Co TN census (p. 131a). You can see both Ephraim's and William's families on the 1870 White Co AR census - this was the first record I found to tie them together.

My family research started with my dad's family Bible, which first lists William ATKINS (b. 1797) and Sarah HARRELL (b. 1800) who married 1819 in Guilford Co NC. I'm in contact with some of the HARRELLs to find Sarah/Sally's parents, but no luck so far.

I recently found a genealogy with William "Billy" ATKINS b. abt 1797 married to Sarah and then settling in McNairy Co TN, but have not been able to confirm that's the first couple in the Bible record. Your information may be just what I need! Was Dan Atkins the father of your David and my William, or is that still another family?

Thanks to a DAMERON researcher - Bill COTTON - I have lots of information about that family. He was the one who confirmed that Rebecca (Ephraim ATKINS' wife) was indeed Elizabeth's younger sister and that their father was James DAMERON. I'll be happy to share this material with you and/or look up answers to your questions.
- Sharon
