The Damarin families are indeed unrelated to our Damron/Dameron
families. Most of what I have had been sent to me by Kathy Near in
1989 and Kathy in turn had received most of her data from Helen
Dameron Jones.Helen obtained a lot of her information at the Fort
Wayne Library in 1980 from a book written in 1903: "History of
Scioto County, Ohio" by Evans, pages 686, 798-799, 945-946.
Charles A. M. Damarin was born 10 Apr 1797 in Paris, France.On 16
March 1817 he, along with his father and brother, "concluded" to
come to the United States. They landed at New York on 2 May 1817
and went to Gallipolis, Ohio.In 1830 he returned to France and
brought back his mother and sister with him ---- etc.I have
photocopies of these pages but some of it is not legible.
On page 945-946 is a biography of Louis Charles Damarin who was
born 24 Sept 1827.After his college educaton he entered the
wholesale grocery house of C. A. M. Damarin. at Portsmouth., Ohio.
He had also been a soldier in the Spanish American War in Monterey,
Mexico in 1846.
Kathy Near sent me census records stapled to the above that show an
Andy Damarin, age 34 in 1880,born in Bavaria, Germany, and living
in Mason County, Crane Ck. Twp., Illiinois in 1880 & 1900.
