I also got some info from the WG Reive Collection in the Ontario Archives (MS 198), also on microfilm, which states that George Dame was the son of Theophelus Dame of Dover, England. George served in the 8th Regiment of Foot, prior to his service in the 84th Foot. A son of George, Alan, lived at Marysburg, Upper Canada.

You might want to look at the Township Papers in the Ontario Archives. Sometimes there is interesting info not found anywhere else. The papers are organized by lot and concession for each township in Ontario. Also on microfilm.
