Dame Family and Joseph F. Dame

I was hoping somebody might be able to help me out. Because of an erroneous birth certificate, I started barking up the wrong family tree, so to speak. Does anybody happen to know if all Dames are related? It would make me feel a little better if they were because then I would feel like my time and money weren't for naught. I thought that the parents of my great-grandmother Clara Dame were Amos Dame and Myra Bean of Nottingham, NH. I then found out the names of Amos' and Myra's parents. I've discovered though that Clara's father was actually Joseph F. Dame, who was born in Canada, moved to Springfield, MA, and then to Hartford, CT. If anyone has any info about Joseph Dame or whether all Dames are related, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
